NXT Bioscience exists to scale plant tissue culture beyond the limits of manual labour — combining innovative plant science with robotics and automation to meet global demand for clonal propagation, new genetics, and resilient supply chains.

Plant tissue culture is the foundation of modern plant science. It has supported clean genetic deployment, varietal development, and clonal propagation at significant commercial scale for decades.
But the underlying model has remained largely unchanged since the 1960s. Even at the scale it operates today, tissue culture depends on skilled people performing repetitive manual work across millions of plants — and that model has reached the limit of what it can do.
The science is sound. The skill of the people running it is significant. The constraint is the system around them.

The economics of tissue culture have always been governed by labour. The cost of skilled hands moving plants one at a time has restricted TC to crops where the value per plant justifies the cost.
When labour stops being the constraint, the equation changes.
Crops that were never economically viable come within reach. Production moves closer to where plants are needed, not where labour is cheapest. Biosecurity strengthens. Supply chains shorten. Tissue culture stops being a specialist tool and becomes a credible answer to global propagation demand.
